There is currently no agreed-upon office classification system in Kazakhstan. At the present time, most international consulting firms follows the following office classification system:
Class A: New offices built in the past two years with excellent design, flexible floor plans, modern building systems, adequate parking and professional management. Office buildings in which floors or portions of floors are offered for sale are not included in the Class A category due to possible issues with building management when there are many different owners.
Class A-: New offices built in the past two years with many of the same features as Class A but with one or more negative factors such as inadequate parking, poor internal design, or unprofessional building management. Some older first generation buildings that are still well-maintained and managed also fit into this category.
Class B+: Offices built in the last 7 to 8 years that are well-maintained and managed but in less prestigious locations and with one or more negative factors such as lack of adequate parking and inefficient floor layouts.
Class B: New and renovated offices that offer good quality and management but at a lower level than B+ or A offices. Their locations are generally less desirable.
Class B-: Smaller sized older buildings that have been renovated for office use.
Class C: Older former government and administrative buildings that have been converted to office use with few major improvements.
